An amazing city

When I first came to Leeds in the Spring of 1998, I honestly thought that it was 'a dump'. It all looked so grey and depressing. However, looking back now, that could well have described me too.
Since then, I have so changed my mind and love the city. It has so much variety, new and old, poor and rich, colourful and yes, grey and depressing !! I have enjoyed many a night out in this great city with my wife, with friends and colleaques over the years.
Sheila and I have stayed in a few of the city's hotels. The Queen's and the SAS Radisson have got to be the best. We've stayed at the SAS twice; once on our wedding night and again last year.
My great friend, Mike Oates, and I have been to quite a few of the pubs there and have watched a lot of movies in the Vue cinema.
I now go to the Leeds Metropolitan Uni every Tuesday for evening group speech therapy, and to the famous St. James's hospital every so often for 1 to 1 speech therapy.
This hospital has looked after the injuries and illnesses that I have had over the past decade. I cannot fault the staff, especially 2 paramedics, who were so wonderfully kind and supportive when I was injured and flat on my back in a field on a hike that went so badly wrong !!!.
From the really nice old guy selling the Evening Post next to the bus stop across the road from Yates, to the street entertainment, Leeds never bores me.
